The Book Fair will be held from to at the Book Fair Grounds, Block - 11, Neyveli Township. Right from its inception in 1998, the Neyveli Book Fair has seen steady growth attributed to the patronage extended by Publishers and Book Sellers and the overwhelming response from the Students, Book lovers and general public in and around Neyveli. The organisers have been keen to take utmost care to create a perfect ambience for the participants and visitors in all aspects by introducing additional facilities every year. We wish to inform that, this year, we are compelled to raise the stall rent due to considerable escalation of associated costs of materials and labour. It is also mentioned that this of stall rent has been made after several years. To participate in the Book Fair, please send the filled-up registration form in duplicate along with the Demand Draft for the stall rent on or before The Triplicate copy of the registration form may be retained at your end for your reference. In case of heavy demand and in view of the limited number of stalls, we may be constrained to close the bookings earlier than Hence you are requested to book the stalls at the earliest. The details of the sponsorship for Entrance Arch, Entry Tickets, Cultural Programmes etc., available at the Neyveli Book Fair 2016 will be provided to interested Firms / Organisations on request. 4 NEYVELI BOOK FAIR st th July 01 to July 10, Participation in the Book Fair is open to Booksellers, Book Publishers, Media publishers and Multimedia (Educational softwares only) Publishers from any part of India. 2. Those Non-book materials and books forbidden by the laws of India should not be exhibited or sold at the Book Fair. If so found, the firms concerned will lose the right to continue in the Book Fair, besides legal action. 3. Anything that may disturb the peace and tranquility of the Book Fair will not be allowed. Playing audio / video games or personal sound system in the stalls is strictly prohibited. In case any complaint is received, the system will be seized and action taken. 4. The Book Fair timings should be strictly followed. The Participants will be allowed inside the Fair grounds only 30 minutes earlier to the commencement of the Fair. Please pay attention to the announcements made from time to time during the Fair. Avoid causing disturbances and help us to run the Fair smoothly. 5. Selection of Publishers / Booksellers to participate in NBF-16 is based on the following norms : i. Allotment for 60 Stalls will be made on first come first served basis as per the percentage given below. The remaining 90 Stalls will be alloted to those firms from among those applicants who secure the highest marks awarded on basis of norms such as, Year of establishment of the firm, Number of Books / Titles published, Categories of Books Sold, Number of Branches established, previous participation in Neyveli Book Fairs etc. To enable a fair evaluation of your Firm, the above details should be provided clearly while filling up the application form. Catalogues / brief profiles of the firm may also be enclosed. ii. Percentage of allotment for the following categories 1. Publishers - Tamil / Regional Language : 37 % 2. Booksellers - Tamil / Regional Language : 10 % 3. Publishers - English : 10 % 4. Booksellers - English : 27% 5. Publishers / Booksellers - 1 Tamil and 1 English : 10 % 6. Educational Multimedia : 06 % iii. Double Stalls will be alloted for maximum of 50% of the stalls in the categories 1 to 4. iv. All the particulars called for in the registration form must be filled up by the firms. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. v. In case the particulars furnished in the registration form by any firm are found to be false, such firms will be debarred from participating in NBF 16 and in future Neyveli Book Fairs. vi. Allotment of stall numbers will be made by draw of lots. vii. Applications may be sent by post / courier. Applications will not be accepted by hand. 6. Cancellation of stalls once alloted will not be permitted and the rent remitted will not be refunded. 7. The name board (banner) in the facia of each stall will be provided in English and Tamil by Neyveli Book Fair Committee as per the Inscriptions furnished in the Registration Form and the participants are not permitted to display their own name board in facia of the Book Stall. 8. In case the stalls allotted are not occupied on the opening day of the Book-fair, the allotment will be treated as cancelled and the rent remitted will not be refunded. Such vacant stalls will be realloted to the waitilisted firms. 9. All the Publishers / Booksellers / Firms participating in the Fair must issue receipts for sales at the Book Fair. 10. A minimum discount of 10% should be allowed on all books & items sold at the Fair. 11. Sub-letting or sub-leasing of the stalls is not allowed. If found, suitable action like cancellation of allotment / debarring / eviction will be resorted to, besides legal action. 12. Pirated editions of books should not be sold. RULES AND REGULATIONS 13. Sale of items other than Books such as Stationery, Toys, Sports goods, Key Chains, Festoons, Pooja materials, etc., will not be permitted in the book Stalls.

5 14. Books should be displayed by the participants within the stalls allotted to them. Display in the walkways and outside the stalls is not permitted. However, the table for billing purpose may be kept outside the stalls without disturbing the other stalls and pavement. 15. Stalls will be alloted to the sponsors of Entry Tickets, Entrance Arch, Competitions etc., in the Book Stall Area depending upon their quantum of sponsorship. For details The Secretary/NBF-2016 may be contacted. 16. Hawking, canvassing and distributing of bit notices inside the Book Fair premises are strictly prohibited. Avoid encroaching upon the common passage between the stalls. 17. Two complimentary passes (I.D.Cards) per stall will be issued to each participating firm. Extra passes, subject to the maximum of 2 per stall will be issued against payment of Rs. 20/- per pass at the Book Fair Office. These passes are not transferrable. They should not be misused and should be carried at all times. 18. Rent collected is only for the stall in the Book Fair. However, as a goodwill gesture, clubbed / shared / unfurnished accomodation shall be provided free of rent to the extent feasible, subject to availability. If the unfurnished accomodation provided does not suit the requirement, Publishers / Book sellers may make their own arrangements for accomodation in which case, they will have to make their own arrangements for travel to and from the Book Fair premises and Hotels. Details of Hotels available at Neyveli are as under : Hotel Radha, Neyveli to 696 Hotel Blue Diamond, Block-19, Neyveli , Hotel Rani & Rani, (Opp. Neyveli Arch gate) , Hotel Swarnambiga, Block-24, Neyveli - 1. (Central Bus Stand) Sales of English Books in the Stalls booked under Regional Language Stall Category will not be permitted. 20. The Book Fair Committee will arrange for Insurance of the entire Book Fair area for fire hazard only. If the participants wish to insure for other risks they should arrange it on their own. 21. Prior written permission from the Organising Committee should be obtained by the participating firms for conducting any promotion / prize Schemes. 22. Participants may bring the necessary Racks & Furniture required by them. The Organising Committee will arrange for chairs and tables on rental basis if required, from the authorised Contractor in Neyveli. Hiring furniture from other agencies in Neyveli is not permitted. 23. Reasonable arrangements for security will be made throughout the Book Fair period. However, the Organising Committee will not be responsible for any loss suffered by the participants in case of burglary, pilferage, flood, etc. Participants shoud therefore, insure their exhibits, other materials and personnel adequately against all kinds of risks. Participants in their own interest should protect men and material as needed and they should not hold the Organising Committee responsible for any eventuality. 24. Untoward incidents such as theft of books, unruly behaviour of mob etc., have to be reported to security personnel and they will take appropriate action. Direct action by publishers against such incidents should be avoided. 25. Banners / Hoardings should not be displayed by participants in places other than the stalls alloted to them. In case they wish to display in places other then the stall area, the appropriate charges fixed by the Book Fair Committee for the same will have to be paid. 26. Participants are strictly prohibited from using Plastic Bags in any form, in view of the total ban on Plastic bags in Neyveli Township. Instead, bags made of eco-friendly paper / cotton / hossian / jute bags should only be used. 27. Any kind of cooking is not permitted either within the stalls or places of accomodation. 28. Firms giving bogus / irrelevant address without having any showrooms / establishments are liable to be rejected and debarred from participating in future Neyveli Book Fairs. 29. Applications received without payment of rent in full will be rejected. 30. Neyveli Book Fair committee will not be responsible for any Postal / Courier delays. 31. The decision of the Neyveli Book Fair Organising Committee in all matters pertaining to the conduct of the Book Fair will be final and binding on all the participants. 32. Admission for participation in Neyveli Book Fair is the sole privilege of the Neyveli Book Fair Committee. The Neyveli Book Fair Committee reserves the right to reject the application of any book seller / publisher without assigning any reason. 32. Any violation of the above rules and regulations will lead to immediate disqualification and removal from the Book Fair, besides legal action. 33. The Civil Courts having original jurisdiction over Neyveli shall alone have exclusive Jurisdiction with regard to any dispute in connection with this Book Fair.
